Globe Artichoke

European delicacy. Flowerbuds made up of thick fleshy scales and solid hearts are cooked and served drenched with melted butter. Artichokes are usually grown as annuals. Start early indoors Feb/March and transplant out in April/May when frosts are past. Beautiful artichokes are ready in August/Sept.
