(Jerusalem oak) Ambrosia is distinguishable by its small oakleaf-shaped, sticky and oily, light green leaves that grow along hairy stems. The plant produces garlands of small flowers. The essential oil taken from ambrosia is captivating and fragrant. Flowers are sometimes brewed into tea, though caution should be taken as seeds and leaves contain oxalic acid and saponin. Plant stems form well into a wreath base for any season. Grows naturally in disturbed soils. Sow into moderately rich soil, in full sun to part shade. Height 24-36in (60-90cm)
