Cuban Oregano

An attractive aromatic plant with large, pale-green, succulent leaves that release a pleasant oregano-like scent when gently brushed. The fleshy leaves are softly rounded with subtle scalloped edges. Small, tubular pale lilac flowers appear when the plant is in bloom, adding to its ornamental appeal. Unlike common oregano, this plant is valued for its culinary uses, particularly in Caribbean cooking. In the West Indies, it is traditionally used to make Creole Chicken and pairs beautifully with chicken, fish, and risotto. Well-suited as a fragrant houseplant or patio herb.
