Beautiful native North American wildflower blooming with spikes of purple blossoms that appear from summer through fall. Pollinators cant resist a visit! Seeds must be stratified before germination! Traditionally used as a sedative, relaxant, nerve tonic, antispasmotic and analgesic. Diaphoretic properties led to its use for febrile infections. It is extremely bitter, which is why most people refuse to take it as a tea, but rather dosed as a tincture. Used in combination to combat hot flashes and other symptoms related to menopause, nervous tension and bitter. Plant in full sun, in well drained, rich soil. Height 2-6 feet.
