Pineapple Sage

One of the most brilliant sages we offer, flowering with bright red tubular blossoms and gracing us with a lovely pineapple scented aroma! Native to Mexico and Guatemala and unbelievably attractive to pollinators, especially hummingbirds! But this sage is not all about looks as it can be used to decorate summer drinks, flavour ice cream, chop into salsa, as a chicken marinade, in tropical fruit salad and brewed into a pleasant tea. Extremely cold sensitive and should be planted as an annual or in a pot that can be moved indoors over winter. Locate in full sun in moist well drained soil. Can reach 4-5 feet!
