(Round-headed bush clover) Lespedeza is native to central and eastern United States as well as Ontario and thrives in woodlands and prairies. Very robust and tall, with rigid stems; Lespedeza blooms late in the growing season, forming dense clusters of white and pink clover-like flowers that attract bees. Research evidence suggests that Lespedeza capitata contains compounds that can lower blood cholesterol. The First Nations people of America once burned dried stems over skin to relieve neuralgia and rheumatism. Ht 4ft.
