An improved ‘Genovese classico’ variety developed in Italy for the pesto industry. The main breeding goals were to improve uniformity and to reduce the unwelcome mintiness often found in Genovese basils. Plants are medium compact with large, brilliant dark green leaves of intense scent and flavour. The delayed onset of flowering helps to boost pesto production.
