One of the most popular herbal aphrodisiacs. A tree native to Brazil, the shredded bark is prepared as a bitter tea or tincture. Catuaba has a long-standing reputation in South America as an aphrodisiac and general tonic for fatigue, poor memory and low energy. Effective for both men and women. Recent studies have focused on its potential to protect against cell damage in Parkinson’s Disease. Anti-anxiety and anti-depressant effect has also been noted, which may arise from action on the dopamine system. Other research has discovered anti-inflammatory effect associated with consuming catuaba.
