(Chinese parsley) This compact cultivar was developed specifically to thrive as an indoor potted plant, best situated in a south, east or west facing windowsill. Like other cilantro varieties, this type does best in well drained soil in full sun to light shade and sensitive to over watering. Seeds directly sown in pots will germinate and grow quickly! Leaves should be harvested regularly to encourage continuous growth. Try incorporating cilantro in salads, salsas, meat dishes and soups! The seeds (coriander), are highly aromatic and can be stored by cutting off seed heads before they fall and drying them in a paper bag. Leaves and can be frozen or dried by hanging in bunches upside down in a warm place.
