(Red-veined dock; Bloodwort) A British native with rosettes of striking light green leaves marked with bright maroon-coloured veins. Can be grown as a border, edging, in the vegetable garden, or as a container plant! Very interesting new salad green! Young leaves can be used like spinach, fresh in salads or blanched a few seconds in boiling water, adding tangy-citrus flavour. Plant in full sun to partial shade in average to moist soil. Will grow continuously from spring until fall and benefits from consistent pruning. Self seeds, so it is important to cut the flower heads to prevent it from getting out of hand. Height 3 feet.
