Said to drive away moles when planted throughout the garden (15m/50 ft. apart). Potential energy-yielding plant because its milky juice of latex is rich in hydrocarbons similar to those in petroleum. Roots and seeds are purgative. Seeds may cause skin irritations: handle with rubber gloves and keep out of the reach of children. May take 1 year to germinate.
