Duration: Perennial (hardy in zones 3-8)
When to Sow: Spring/Late Summer/Early Fall Ease of Germination: Easy
Truly remarkable for its unique metallic blue thistle like flowers that are commonly used in dried flower arrangements as they retain their colour and shape well. Used traditionally as a treatment for whooping cough, as it has antibacterial properties. The antibacterial properties also sparked interest in its use as a natural preservative. Its high polyphenol content has driven research into this herbs potential as an anti inflammatory and antidiabetic agent. Thrives in arid environments and looks great as a border or mass planting. Requires very little maintenance and heat, drought and salt tolerant. Height 2-3 feet.
