Evergreen Tomato
Solanum lycopersicum 'Evergreen'
Duration: Annual
When to Sow: Spring Ease of Germination: Easy
Old variety introduced by Gleckler Seedsmen in 1956. The Gleckler catalogue described it as a "strange tomato that refuses to change colour" and only turns a pale yellowish green when ripe. But the green ripe tomatoes are delicious, fleshy, and "very fine for slicing and frying and especially for making delicious conserves." Fruits are medium-large, 10-16 ounces. Indeterminate vines. 72-80 days.
