This large lima bean is from a market in Yerevan, Armenia. Although the bean is similar to an old American heirloom variety called the "Christmas Lima" it does not seem to be the same bean. The woman selling the beans said that they were used in soup and were quite rare even though they had been grown in Armenia for a long time.
