The 16th century herbalist, Nicholas Culpepper, left an enduring mark on British herbalism with his famous work, The Complete Herbal. His herbal, unlike others of the day, emphasized medicinal plants found growing locally, which is a big reason why the herbal became wildly popular. This book is an adaptation of the original work with modern uses added. Each of the nearly 400 herbs is beautifully illustrated in full colour which alone is reason enough to get this book.
