I realize this may not be your area of expertise, but I need to know what herbs I can grow in my garden without endangering my two small dogs. I have found many lists of poisonous plants, but only sage is mentioned as poisonous for dogs. Nowhere can I find a list of herbs safe or unsafe for them. Hope you can help, or point me in the right direction for the information I need.

Many of the plants that are hazardous to humans are also hazardous to dogs. Here are some resources:

The Animal Poison Control Center: http://www.aspca.org/site/DocServer/poisonousplantsdogscats.pdf?docID=109&AddInterest=1101

The Animal Science Department at Cornell University: http://www.ansci.cornell.edu/plants/dogs/

Cybercanine.com: http://www.cybercanine.com/toxicplants.htm

The Dogpatch: http://www.dogpatch.org/doginfo/plants.html

Two excellent books available from Richters on herbs for dogs are:
