Our 10 year old dog, we have just learned has diabetes. We have always try to feed him good, organic dogs foods, he gets tons of exercise and is well loved. He now has to take insulin shots. What else can we do for him? We were hoping to have him off the insulin one day. We give him chromium also.

This is a serious condition and one that requires an ongoing face-to-face relationship with a qualified practitioner who has experience in both herbs and animals. Unfortunately, once an animal (or human) is taking insulin by injection, discontinuing this drug is usually not an option. However, you can mitigate further concerns by feeding your dog a good, homemade diet to build up his health and immune system.
