Flea Control Using Richters HerbWild Products

I was wondering if the Bug-a-Bug neem oil or Take-a-Hike product (HerbWild products sold by Richters) would be efficient and safe for preventing fleas. I have used a commercial product in the past but I am not sure that it is safe and healthy for our two cats or for our family’s health.

Neither product has been tested on animals. However, anything that is applied to the outside of an animal will shortly end up inside due to their propensity to clean themselves by licking. Therefore, one should make doubly sure that all ingredients used are safe for internal consumption. I would not recommend neem oil internally -- particularly in cats -- nor any product containing volatile or essential oils. Please see the posting on this website (www. richters.com) entitled, "Flea Repellent":
