Myrrh and Goldenseal for Infections in Dogs

Have you heard of using myrrh and goldenseal to treat infection in dogs? It was recommended to us but I would love a second opinion.

Yes, I have seen both herbs used for this purpose, particularly in dental related infections. Both herbs are incredibly horrible tasting (in my opinion) so they can be difficult to place in food whereas in a dental situation they can be applied directly to the tooth or gum using a cotton swab. Without knowing what situation they were recommended for it is hard to give you an answer more direct than that above.
