Rabbits and Swine Flu

My daughter just had the swine flu, and I’m afraid our rabbit caught it. She is now tired all day, and doesn’t want us near her. Usually she is very sweet and friendly. Also, she is eating and drinking less. The vet is closed today. What can we give her? Could it be a hairball? She is a Jersey woolly rabbit, but we brush her often.

As far as I know, swine flu cannot be transmitted from humans to rabbits. Therefore, the best thing to do would be to take her to your veterinarian as soon as the clinic opens to see what else might be the cause of your rabbit’s malaise. There are so many different possible reasons your rabbit is under the weather that without further information, I’m afraid I cannot offer an opinion. Good luck!
