What kind of Chinese herbs are useful for increasing the level of testosterone in the body?

In my knowledge, the level of testosterone is the same as the level of Kidney-yang in Traditional Chinese Medicine. There are quite a few Chinese herbs applied to promote Kidney-yang which is the master of Yang Qi all over the body. I would like to introduce a couple of the most popular of this kind of herbs to you as follows.

1. Bajitian (Medicinal Indianmulberry Root; Morinda officinalis How) It is applied for deficiency of Kidney-yang manifested as impotence, sterility and cold pain in lower abdomen. In the case of impotence and sterility, it is used with Renshen (Radix ginseng), Shanyao (Rhizoma dioscoreae), and Roucongrong (Herba cistanchis). Notes: it is not suitable for the case with deficiency of YIN causing hyperactivity of Yang or for that with dampheat.

2. Yinyanghuo (Epimedium sagittaum (S. etZ.) Maxim or E. brevicornum Maxim) For impotence due to deficiency of the Kidney manifested as soreness of the waist and knees, frequent micturition, it can be soaked alone in spirit for drinking.

3. Roucongrong (Cistauche deserticola Y. C. Ma) It is applied for the deficiency of King-yang and insufficiency of the blood and essence manifested as impotence, sterility, flaccidity of tendons and bones. For impotence, it is combined with shudihuang (Radix rehmanniae), Tusizi (Semen cuscutae) and Wuweizi (Fructus schisandrae).

The application of Chinese herbs is complicated, which is very different of Western medicine. For how to use properly, going to see a doctor of Chinese medicine is recommended.
