I’m doing some research on the market demand and prices for lavender oils, for both Augustifolia and Intermedia varieties. Any info. You could provide would be helpful. Also, do you know of markets for purchase lavender oils?

All markets are soft right now, so prices are somewhat down, even for imports. The three primary Lavender Oils sold currently in North America include

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia Mill.) - True Lavender Lavender (Lavandula latifolia Vill.) - Spike Lavender Lavender (Lavandula hybrida Reverchon) - Lavandin, or Grosso Lavender [= L. intermedia -- ed.]

The French remains at $20.50/lb., FOB NY, while the Lavandin is selling for half that price. Most buyers are located in NY, NJ, and Toronto. They can be identified via the OPD Chemical Buyer’s Directory, part of Chemical Marketing Reporter.

This would include Penta Manufacturing, Polarome, Robertet, Charabot, Florasynth, and E.L. Scott. Depending on your quality and price, I might be interested in representing your crop (if domestically grown). I would samples and other documentation. Are you certified organic?
