Local Wild Herb Buyers

I used to collect ,clean and dry wild local herbs and sell them to a buyer close to the Oklahoma line.

That buyer quit and I have been looking for a place to sell ever since. Can you help?

I used to work with Greg Wells of Sharps Pawn, out of Bartlesville, OK. I am uncertain if he is also still in business, but suspect he will always be around. I used to buy my Echinacea from him, and often sold him Cascara.

I broker, but usually in larger quantities than single wildcrafters. There are plenty of buyers for your crops, however. My article on "Marketing Resources" might be a good place to start:

Of course, my book "The Potential Of Herbs As A Cash Crop" has four chapters on marketing, to include buyers and their names and addresses. Since the book was written almost 20 years ago, you may need to update some of the buyers via Internet searches.

Don’t forget my other book "Native Plants of Commercial Importance." Both books are available from Richters, Acres, USA, or directly from me. Each sells for $20. If you buy them from me, I could also autograph them for you (if interested).

You may contact me directly if you continue to have problems locating local and regional buyers. I do broker, and often am looking for wildcrafted plants, as farming went into a big slump for the last eight years.
