If you plant feverfew from seed in the spring will you get seed from the plants the first year? How many plants do you need to produce 10lbs?

Weight-loss from drying herb is averaged at about 82% to bring it down to 12% moisture. That means to have 10 lbs. at 12% (dry) would require about 83 lbs of fresh-cut feverfew.

This is about true for almost any herb-cut crop such as alfalfa.

[Yes, you will get a crop the first season in most temperate zones. For more information about growing feverfew, including seeding rates and crop yields see http://www.richters.com/progrow.cgi?search=Feverfew --Ed.]
