I read the answer to a question about marketing stinging nettles. My question is who does one contact if one would like to market herbs. Is there a list of companies that are looking for herbs? If it makes any difference, I live in Canada.

Stinging nettle has a limited marketplace, mostly in cosmetics as a hair rinse (Revlon). I guess you could begin contacting other cosmetic buyers. A list of resources for identifying them can be found at

There are also a number of regional wholesalers who stock this item for distribution throughout most herb stores in each city. My book "The Potential of Herbs as a Cash Crop" has a list of regional buyers, names and their address. www.froogle.com would also bring up a more current list.

If you are thinking of wildcrafting nettle, you might also include catnip, which probably grows next to the water and nettle. They seem to like to grow next to each other, as the sol gets wetter. Catnip is also a limited market, but much larger than nettle. And, it is more conducive to cottage industry production, where you can sell more of your labor.
