I have acquired juniper berries and I haven’t a clue to what they are used for. Do you know about them? Could you please let me know what they are used for?

Juniper berries are used for seasoning meats (marinades), in pates, sauces and stuffings. Used in German cooking to flavour sauerkraut. They are usually used dried (bitter when fresh/raw). Crushing before using helps to release their flavour.

NOTE: These berries come from a coniferous shrub/tree and are deep purple when ripe. They are the distinctive flavouring used to make gin.
