Greetings Conrad,

You will be pleased to know that that 7-year-old Richters dill seed is happily reproducing itself in my garden here. It is sooooooooooo beautiful!!!

The basil seems to be affected with some sort of blight which is turning some of the leaves brown, but of course that isn’t your seed: it’s local. But OH MY! it’s a fine hedge!

The English thyme never appeared on the scene, but the Italian Parsley is gorgeous. The Richters lemon balm seed (also as old) has produced some lovely tea enjoyed by all who have tried it and made some great garnishes, and I am going to take a couple of plants up to the nursery keeper in Aburri Gardens this Thursday, Insha’Allah. I’ll be hitting him up for a tamarind pod.

I have been enjoying my own lettuce and okro [okra] here for months; the tomatoes have been hit with a blight and so rather unsuccessful, a surprise. I have wonderful eggplant, the fat round type, almost ready for the moussaka. Wish I had some local oregano to go into it, but no such luck.

It must be nice to hear garden news at Xmastime, LOL.

A very Merry Xmas to you and your family and may God Bless your enterprise and all your endeavours.

My warmest greetings to your wife.

Yours truly

Niela Peach/Laila Suraj, Ghana, West Africa
