Growing Sweetgrass

I am interested in growing sweetgrass and will purchase some from your catalogue. My question is what can I do to make conditions "just right" for growing this. I know some people who have tried growing sweetgrass with no success. What are the soil/light/moisture/propagation requirements? I will experiment this year and hope that I can expand the amount of sweetgrass growing in the future.

In our experience, sweetgrass is one of the easiest plants to grow. Like other fast growing grasses, it spreads quickly by sending out underground stems or rhizomes. It does well in most soils, in full sun, with moderate precipitation. It is propagated by division and, although seeds are difficult to find, it also apparently propagates by seed. A hardy perennial, it grows 30-60 cm (1-2 ft) high.
