I think cowslips are very attractive, but I can’t find any cultivation information on them, even in books that mention them. What are their sun/soil requirements, and about how large do they get? I know they’re related to primroses, do they resemble primroses in terms of care as well?

They grow in full or partial sun and prefer well-drained soil. They grow 6-8 inches high. Yes, they do resemble primroses in care.

Deni Bown’s "Encyclopedia of Herbs & Their Uses" is a valuable source of of this sort of data for over 1000 herbs. The book is available from Richters.

I am looking for information about lemon basil. Do you know where I might locate information?

Lemon basil only became commonly available about 10 years ago. Prior to that it was grown by collectors of rare herbs or by members of certain ethnic communities that regularly consume lemon basil. Herb books published within the last five years will likely contain information on lemon basil.

There is an excellent book on basil called "Basil: An Herb Lover’s Guide" by Thomas DeBaggio and Susan Belsinger. This book covers all aspects of basil, including growing and using, and it has the best information on the various types of basil including several types of lemon basil. The book is available from Richters.
