Leggy Mint

There was mint growing when I moved into this house. I understand it is supposed to be bushy. Mine is quite tall and leggy. Is it not getting enough sun? It is in a bed on the east side of the house and is in partial shade.

This is the first time I have had herbs so I am not sure if I should move it.

There are many varieties of mint, some are tall and others are low creepers. You may have one of the tall growing mints such as apple mint. Mints will tolerate partial shade but they really shine in full sun where they tend to produce their strongest scented leaves. We suggest that you consider moving the plant if is not getting at least 4 hours of direct sunlight.
