Scale on Myrtle Answered by: Inge Poot Question from: Eva Hamlin Posted on: April 4, 1998
I have a small myrtle tree that is infested with scale; what should I do to get rid of it?
To control scale, you should spray throughly with pyrethrum soap spray (Catalogue #T2212). Repeat at weekly intervals for at least 4 weeks, or until scale has vanished. To reduce the number of scales that hatch, you might wish to scrape off any scale you can see. The spray will only kill the freshly hatched crawlers.
