Wolfberry, Woollygrass, Mauritian Mallow

1. What is the best site for growing Chinese Wolfberry? I have a four year old plant in full sun and well drained soil. It produced a few berries last year but appears to be struggling.

Chinese Wolfberry likes full sun and a well-drained, moist, alkaline soil. It could be your soil is too acid for it to do well.

2. How long does it take Woolygrass to produce the white flowers described in your cataloque? My patch of it is five years old and is in full sun-well drained soil.

Woolygrass has to be a strong mature plant to produce flowers. Also often plants don’t flower if the soil is too rich in nitrogen. Try some phosphate fertilizer. Or replant into poorer soil.

3. You list Mauritian Mallow as a biennial. I purchased seed from you about three years ago and it has always flowered the first year.

The mallow flowers for you, because you have such a long season. It gets enough strength to try for a bloom the first year!

Once again thanks for your help. Wish I could send you some west coast weather, things are popping up like crazy here!
