I live in the eastern townships of Quebec and am interested in growing ginkgo. What are the specifications for growing this herb?

Ginkgo is hardy in zones 3 to 9, but some authors rate it only for zones 5 to 9. It likes well-drained, rich, moist soil and does well in sun or partial shade. Pruning the tree causes die back and should therefore be avoided.

Seeds need 6 weeks of moist storage at temperatures close to freezing for maximum germination. Germinate at day temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius and night temperatures of 20 degrees celsius.
