Chaste Tree Dormancy Answered by: Conrad Richter Question from: Sheila Sweeney Posted on: October 19, 1998
I purchased vitex (chaste tree) seeds from you. Got some of them to germinate. They were outside in pots and I’ve just recently brought them in. Do they enter some sort of dormancy? If they do, what do I need to provide?
In our greenhouses chaste trees tend to slow down for the winter when light levels and temperatures are lower. They may also shed their leaves. The main thing to watch for if you plants do the same, is to not to overwater. Water only when the soil is dry (but don’t let it get dried out).
