Mulberry Growth Habit Answered by: Inge Poot Question from: Vicky Hilger Posted on: March 17, 1999
Is your mulberry (Morus nigra) the black weeping mulberry and if so how large wiil it grow?
Our mulberry is the wild upright form and could grow 9 to 12 meters tall and about 15 meters wide. It will be smaller in conditions that are less than optimal for it and it can be kept smaller by judicious pruning. The bush has a more or less vase shaped growth habit. It is hardy in zones 5 to 9. It likes full sun and well-drained, fertile soil.
