Variety for Rosemary Topiary Answered by: Inge Poot Question from: Lori Brown Posted on: May 4, 1999
Could you please tell me if rex rosemary is the variety most commonly used to create rosemary topiary? If not, what type should I order to create rosemary topiary?
Any upright growing rosemary would lend itself well for topiary creations. Rex rosemary is one of the most vigorously growing upright varieties and therefore would lend itself well for such a use. Other varieties would be arp, benenden blue, pine and pink rosemary. Most of the seed grown rosemaries also have an upright habit.
By the way, we carry an excellent book on topiaries called "Herb Topiaries". Please check our online catalogue at http://www.richters.com for further information.
