Tomatillos Not Bearing Fruit Yet Answered by: Conrad Richter Question from: Faye Posted on: August 18, 1999
I am growing tomatillos for the first time, the plants seem to be quite healthy and there are numerous husks but they are all empty. When does the fruit form? I live about 30 miles east of the Oregon coast and can grow tomatoes; they ripen around the middle of September.
Tomatillos are slow to develop fruit, often taking until October and November. It is likely that the fruits have not begun forming yet. You should start seeing fruits developing over the while.
