Ginkgo Not Emerging From Rest

My ginkgo never recovered from shipping. He’s not dead--it’s like it’s winter for him. Is this normal?

The shock of shipping, then planting may have been too much of a shock for this particular plant and made it decide to go back into winter mode. Since it is not dead there is hope for it yet. When winter comes, after the first few frosts wrap the plant in some cloth, mulch it and wait for spring. Unwrap in spring, keep moist and hope it wakes up. If you are keeping it in a pot make sure you move the pot into a cool spot just above freezing for the winter and again don’t let the plant dry out. Once danger of frost is over move it back out of doors. It should wake up after such an easy winter!
