Ruegen Strawberry Seed Germination

I have just received some seeds from you. I have a query about the strawberry seeds (alpine ‘Ruegen’). Do they need to be frozen for 3/4 weeks before seeding? I just read this suggestion in a gardening article.

We have had good germination of our seed in our seeding trials sowing them at room temperature. They came up in about 10 days. Since the seeds are very small, surface sow them, press them into the soil and sprinkle a bit of sterile sand over the seed, just to anchor them to the soil. Set seed tray into a container of water, with the water level coming about half way up the seeding flat and wait until the surface becomes wet. Drain, cover with plastic and wait for germination.
