I am interested in growing Chinese wolfberry. Can you give me tips for its propagation, please? I live in central Saskatchewan, Canada and hope to start it indoors then place it outside for the summer. Will this work? Does it like sun or shade?

I presume that you realize that Chinese wolfberry would not survive your winters out of doors since it only survives out of doors in zones 5-9. According to Deni Bown’s book "Encyclopedia of Herbs" (Richters’ catalogue #B2730), it likes sandy, alkaline moist but well-drained soil and needs full sun. It can be propagated by seed sown in the fall, by softwood cuttings taken in the summer and by hardwood cuttings taken in the winter. It should be pruned to size in spring and dead wood should be cut out in winter. To get the heaviest fruiting and the best shaped shrub, prune lightly two or three times per year.
