Aloe Vera & Patchouli Losing Leaves

I purchased an Aloe vera plant, and a patchouli plant this summer. Some of the succulent leaves on the aloe are turning yellow at the tips, then shrivelling up (especially on the newer growth). How often does it need watering? The patchouli plant is continuously losing it’s leaves. They are turning yellow, then brown & dropping off. Your help with these two plants is greatly appreciated.

Aloe vera can take full sun, but has to be gradually introduced to it. It likes to be barely moist, never soggy wet and with a neutral pH around 7.0. Check if you meet these conditions.

Patchouli prefers half shade and likes to be moist but not always soggy wet. It does not like cold temperatures and may drop leaves in response to temperature shock. A soil rich in compost, well drained, with an acid pH of around 5.5 to 7.5 is suitable.
