Bloodroot Growing Large and Floppy

I purchased a bloodroot from Richters. It has done well but it is not sturdy enough to stand upright on its own. It is about 20 inches (50cm) tall and 20 inches(50cm) wide. It is covered with clusters of white flowers, in full sun. How can I make it stronger? How tall will it get? What else can I do to keep this wonderful plant?

Since it is now fall, I presume the flowers were there in the spring, produced seed capsules in late June and after that started to sprawl and get weak-stemmed. This is the natural growth cycle of the plant and you are doing everything right. The flowering and fruiting of the plant took a lot out of it and after that it just tries to get enough light to produce food for next spring’s show. Cover the plant with fallen leaves for the winter to simulate the deciduous forest environment it is native to and it will continue to thrive.
