Wintering Silver Tansy Answered by: Inge Poot Question from: William H. Sandefur Posted on: December 07, 2007
How do I winterize the silver tansy? I can not find anything on your web site about silver tansys. I live in Newburgh, which is in southern Indiana. We do not have extreme cold very long at a time here.
You live in zone 6 and silver tansy is rated hardy for zones 5-9. You do not have to do anything to get it through the winter. But please note that the plant is actually a biannual and will die after flowering. So be sure to save and sow some of the masses of seeds it produces, so that you will have it for future years.
