I am growing some hot peppers, basil, rosemary and cilantro. How do I keep the bugs away? I have already noticed some thing eating the pepper leaves.

Spray your plants with an emulsion of neem oil. (Add two teaspoons of neem oil to one liter(one quart) of warm water plus one teaspoon of dishwash detergent-or better yet: of Safer’s soap concentrate- shake and spray.) Repeat after every rain. If you think earwigs or slugs might be the marauders, sprinkle ground up diatomaceous earth(trade name from Richters: Fossil Flower) around the plants in a continuous, at least 5cm (2") wide ring. reapply after rain.
