Inducing Ovulation

I am looking for a natural way to induce ovulation. (Alternatives to Clomid)

Herbs used to balance the hormones to encourage ovulation are:

* Vitex agnus-castus - stimulates the pituitary to regulate hormone production. It increases the production of Lutenizing Hormone, required for ovulation

* Angelica sinesis (Dong Quai) - contains building blocks for estrogen and progesterone synthesis, and supports the liver. This is widely used in hormonal causes of infertility.

In herbal treatment, we would first set the environment for fertility by recommending that the woman is not overweight or stressed, encouraging appropriate diet and relaxation excercises, and using a general supporting tonic to build strength and tone before stimulating fertilization. A cleansing and strengthening formula may include: Chamaelirium luteum to balance hormones and tone the uterus; Dandelion root to support the liver in all of its roles; Dandelion leaf as a diuretic to cleanse the kidney; Motherwort (Leonuris cardiaca) as a cardiac and uterine tonic; Nettle leaf as a blood and circulatory tonic; Red Clover (Trifolium pratense) to improve lymphatic circulation and as a nutritive tonic; Borage to support the adrenal glands.
