I have been told that this is not good to take if you already have high blood pressure, is that true, 1000mg per day. Your thoughts

Yohimbe (Pausinystalia yohimbe) contains powerful chemical constituents that stimulate the nervous system with side effects that may include anxiety, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, flushing, hallucinations and headache. For these reasons, it should be taken only in consultation with a registered medical practitioner. It should not be taken by persons with high blood pressure, diabetes, glaucoma, a history of mental disturbance or on MAO inhibitor anti-depressants. High dosages can cause blood vessel damage.

The extracted active compound, yohimbine, is sold as a prescription drug and has fewer side effects.
