I was told that their is a herb that can help with constipation. If there is could you please e-mail me the name and where I might get it?

Constipation can often be relieved by increasing the amount of fresh fruit in the diet, especially prunes and apples, by regular daily exercise, and by drinking about eight cups of fresh water or herbal teas daily.

As well as dietary considerations, factors in constipation can include either over-relaxation or tension. An over-relaxed person may need stimulation, such as with cayenne or ginger. An over-stimulated, tense person can benefit with relaxing chamomile tea.

Psyllium seeds and flax seeds add bulk to the stool, stimulating a bowel movement. When using psyllium or flax seeds, you must drink a full cup of water after taking them and ensure that you drink 8 cups of water a day, or the seeds will dry out the digestive system, causing bowel obstruction. Start with one tablespoon of seeds in the morning, increasing to three times a day if necessary. Occassionally, people are allergic to psyllium seeds. Don’t use psyllium if you have asthma and watch for a negative reaction if you suffer from allergies.
