Can black cohosh cause your stool to be black? I just started taking kava kava, vitimin e, and black cohosh when I noticed this change.

Black stools can be caused by the colours in certain fruits, from licorice and from iron or charcoal, or it can be blood from ulceration in the stomach or intestine from infection, aspirin or other drugs. I haven’t heard of Black Cohosh causing this. Make sure that your herbs are from a reputable source so that you are sure that they are free of contaminants.
