Anti-cancer treatment and recovery bedrest has made this person, a 74 year-old female, weak. Her limbs are weak and not moving. Her colon is constricted. She avoids eating.

Doctors give Valium or morphine as treatment.

Is there any herbal hope or pain relief through herbal medicine?

The patient is distraught and is weak in conversation.

Your friend would probably benefit by a full consultation with a natural health practitioner such as a medical or clinical herbalist or a naturopath. There are many factors involved here, and a full assessment would be necessary in order to determine the best course of treatment to provide some quality of life to this patient.

A series of gentle exercises can help to return functioning of muscles that have become weak. A physiotherapist would be helpful for this purpose. Bowel function may be improved with the help of a good colon therapist. There are many natural pain relief therapies, and there are herbs to help to develop an appetite for food. It is not possible to suggest herbs without full knowledge of this particular case.
