Chasteberry for Post Menopausal Symptoms?

My friend recently started taking chasteberry for menstrual cramps. I am in my mid fifties and post- menopausal. However, since chasteberry deals with hormones, would it help me maintain balance and help stop nightsweats and hot flashes? They have diminished, but I’m wondering if there would be any benefit to my taking this herb. Also, would it make my body produce more hormones and increase my sexual drive and diminish vaginal dryness?

I think that there are better herbs than chasteberry for your symptoms in post menopause. We have answered questions about these symptoms previously. Please see our website at www.richters.com. Choose "Q&A" from the main menu, then enter the letters "menopaus" for one search, and look for the item "Menopause and Decreased Sex Drive". Enter the word "flash" for a second search.

I recommend that you consult one of the books mentioned in these answers. The books will give you a more holistic solution to your menopausal symptoms.
